SpinSecure - a new concept in security at this year's show

Friday, January 22, 2010

SpinSecure will be showcasing a new and innovative concept in security at this year's show.  Not only has the technology been already applied to a range of products, it can also be used in bespoke solutions to meet the needs of other equipment manufacturers to create unique locking products.

How Does It Work?Spin Secure web

All SpinSecure products re-define what it means to "lock" something. Normally to "lock" means to fix something in place or in one position.

SpinSecure security devices actually do the complete opposite. All SpinSecure products use a very clever patented system that utilises magnets to disengage it from its mechanism,  allowing it to spin freely and therefore eliminating the use of force or torque to remove the device.

Imagine you were trying to remove a hexagon nut that was stuck or rusted onto a threaded bolt. If you could get enough torque by using a longer spanner you would eventually remove the nut by applying brute force. If however the threads had become damaged to the point where they no longer worked then the nut would just spin and never be removed no matter how many times you turned it or how much force you used.

When you lock one of our products it is exactly like removing the threads on the nut so it will always spin freely and never come off.

How is it used?

SpinSecure products have been carefully developed to offer a high level of security in a range of applications:

1. WATER SECURITY

TapLock - Protect all your external water taps from water theft and tampering, with TapLock.

HydraLock - SpinSecure will be demonstrating the European version of the U.S. Captivator which has been hugely successful in the United States.  Many countries that use external fire hydrants have problems with people using and wasting the water or vandalising the mechanism.  HydraLock uses SpinSecure Technology to 'lock off' the fire hydrant. Its clever design only allows authorised personnel and fire fighters to remove the lock quickly, easily and safely using a universal tool carried as a standard piece of equipment.

2.  FUEL & CHEMICAL SECURITY

TankLock - Protect the fuel in your storage tank with TankLock.  TankLock is fitted to the 2" (50mm) tank inlet where you would normally have a cap and chain fitted.  Again, using SpinSecure technology TankLock prevents access to your tank through the filler pipe with NO PADLOCKS and NO TORQUE POINTS.

DrumLock - Protects the contents o

f standard 200 litre drums and similar.  HydraLock uses a special 'keyed' magnetic tool to allow access.  All your drums can now be locked quickly and easily w

ith

DrumLock.  Unlike other products on the market there are NO PADLOCKS or conne

cting arms between the two drum inlets.

3.  TRANSPORT SECURITY

WaveLock - Theft of fuel from boats and barges is becoming increasingly more common.  There are currently locks available, however they are usually made from plastic and use conventional keys and tend to resemble "light duty" car filler caps.  Manufactured from highly polished stainless steel with a superb look/finish, WaveLock utilises a magnetic locking key and when locked spins freely, eliminating torque points for jemmy bars etc.

4.  INDUSTRIAL SECURITY/SAFETY

Valve Lock  (Regulator Version) - Allows operators in industrial environments padlock free locking of all regulator valves ensuring that, for example, air regulators can't be altered after being set to the correct pressure.  This promotes better health and safety within the work place and ensures minimum waste of air by not allowing 'over regulating' of workplace machinery.  As with all SpinSecure products all ValveLocks can be 'keyed' alike so one key would fit all valves within a factory environment.

ValveLock (Ball Valve Version) - Lockable ball valves are common within industry, however most of them need padlocks. ValveLock utilises padlock free Spin Secure technology to ensure simple, easy locking and unlocking of ball valves within an industrial environment.

In addition SpinSecure will be showcasing other concepts, such as its magnetic barrel lock which is used in the United States to lock electric and water meters, and the FDC lock which protects fire fighters water connection points in high rise buildings from tampering, and debris etc.

SpinSecure Bespoke Solutions - All the company's locking concepts and mechanisms can be developed for use in other products, so if you have an interest in any of the above products or want to talk to the team about developing a bespoke solution this is your chance - visit SpinSecure on stand F28!
